wheeleR

Brisbane band of brothers, wheeleR, deliver a fresh mix of indie pop-rock featuring melodic guitar, meaningful lyrics and a healthy dose of teen angst. The band is comprised of the three Wheeler brothers, Knox (songwriter/singer/guitarist), Flaxton (drums/harmonica/vocals) and Xane (bass/vocals). Despite the brothers having an average age of 13, they have had a very busy year, building a fan base in Brisbane, and independently releasing their debut single, ASAP, which peaked at #10 on the Triple J ‘Unearthed’ Overall Chart, and currently has wheeleR as one of five national finalists in the National Youth Week, ‘RockIt’ competition. The formation of wheeleR as a band occurred in late 2008, when the two elder brothers convinced Xane to take up the bass guitar and round out the brotherly trio.  After some coercion Xane agreed, and wheeleRstarted rehearsing, performing, writing and more recently, recording as a band. Since their formation, wheeleR have appeared on national TV, won the Ryan Rocks music competition and performed at the Green Earth Festival, as well as a range of fetes and fairs.  The band is appearing regularly at the Music Kafe in West End.   With their debut single on sale now, and plans for an independent EP release late this year, 2010 is set to be a big year for the Wheeler brothers.

One Good Woman

Annie Edwards and Tony Chambers are One Good Woman, presenting songs about common human experience - falling in love, falling out of love, parenting, working, the search for joy and the struggle to find peace in the midst of chaos. Along with great tunes, powerful lyrics and driving rhythms, we also write songs about the marginalised and forgotten members of our city - the deprived, the disadvantaged, the demonised and the broken. These are essentially pop tunes, sometimes with a country edge, sometimes with a rock or bluesy edge, that strive to offer a hope for all seasons. They are redemption songs that aim to give back what the world takes away from us all.
